The product dictionary is a database that matches your internal product code or reference number to the corresponding Harmonized Tariff System (HTS) Number for either import or export shipments. At the outset, we create a computerized catalog of all your products, your numerical identifiers for them, and a description of each. We then determine the appropriate classification for each, and match it to the product name / code within the database. Thereafter, any time we reference your alphanumeric product identifier, the corresponding HTS Number is automatically applied. Shapiro has successfully employed this system since the mid 1980's. U.S. and foreign Customs agencies recognize and respect the accuracy inherent in our product dictionary program.
