Samuel Shapiro and Company, Inc. is an active participant in the Transportation Security Administration (“TSA”) Air Cargo Research Program, which provides an internet-accessible “Known Shipper” database. Participation in the Program enables our air export department to designate overseas consignees as “Known Shippers” as provided for by TSA rules. Our cooperation with the TSA provides a direct benefit to exporters by expanding carrier options to “passenger” aircraft in addition to the limited “all cargo” or “freighter” aircraft that are required to be used for “Unknown Shipper” cargo.
