The Baltimore Sun lists Samuel Shapiro & Company, Inc. as one of the top places to work in Baltimore, MD.

The Baltimore Sun, in collaboration with Workplace Dynamics, a Philadelphia based HR firm, has recently released a listing of the Top Workplaces 2011 in the region. Firms were nominated for consideration by their own employees and then evaluated using confidential surveys focused on corporate direction, execution, career opportunities, conditions, managers, pay/benefits, and engagement. After collecting and analyzing all surveys, Workplace Dynamics ranked the participants against companies of similar size.

Samuel Shapiro & Company, Inc., a 96-year-old Customs brokerage and freight forwarding company, was recognized as one of the top workplaces for smaller companies in the region. The company ranked particularly well in the direction category, and the company’s managers were ranked 2nd among 69 companies for their overall job satisfaction. Margie Shapiro, the firm’s third generation owner and CEO, said, “Samuel Shapiro & Co is very honored to be selected by the Baltimore Sun and most importantly by our family of employees. Our mission statement is ‘We Deliver. Problem Solved.’ This promise to our many customers is delivered by passionate, creative people with the fire and commitment to design the best logistics solutions in the business.”
