On March 31, 2020, the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) announced that they would be postponing tax payments owed to the bureau by 90 days.

The extension covers any payments owed from March 1, 2020 through July 1, 2020.

At this time, it is unclear how, or if, this announcement will affect imports.

US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is the collecting agency for taxes on imported beer, wine, and liquor, and has not yet issued guidance to the trade regarding the postponement of these taxes.
